Jackson, Mich.,—Plexus Technology Group, LLC (Plexus TG), a fully KLAS-rated, market-leading, best-of-breed anesthesia information management system (AIMS) provider, is pleased to announce they will be exhibiting at the 2017 International MUSE Conference held at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center near Dallas, Texas from May 30th to June 2nd. Medical Users Software Exchange (MUSE), a non-profit organization of facilities that use the MEDITECH EHR, is the largest independent MEDITECH users group in the world. The MUSE conference offers attendees a wide variety of opportunities to network, learn and engage with peers and experts all sharing a common connection to the same EHR solutions.

“The 2017 International MUSE Conference provides a great opportunity for us to engage with the MEDITECH community.  This is one of our favorite events each year, as it really showcases our customers’ success integrating the Plexus Anesthesia Touch platform with their MEDITECH systems,” said Tony Mira, CEO of Plexus Technology Group. “The seamless flow of information to and from the anesthesia record is a win-win that benefits both the facility and the anesthesia practice.”

Attendees look forward to the annual MUSE conference to learn from their MEDITECH peers and peer organizations that have already faced—and solved—familiar challenges.  Educational sessions and presentations describing real-world product experiences are among the most popular events.  This year’s MUSE conference will feature the Plexus TG Anesthesia Touch™ solution in a presentation titled “Integrating Plexus Anesthesia with MEDITECH: A Community Hospital Perspective.”  Glen Rosenfeld, MD, Chair of the Department of Anesthesia at Bristol Hospital in Connecticut, will share his perspective including thoughts and suggestions for facilities considering an electronic anesthesia record.  Greg Matthews, Director of Product Management for Plexus TG, will be available during the presentation to answer questions about the Plexus TG solutions.  Dr. Rosenfeld’s Product Showcase session is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31st in the Grapevine 3 room at 1:00 pm.

As an exhibitor, Plexus TG will demonstrate Anesthesia Touch, an easy to use, scalable AIMS solution that simplifies how today’s providers must document to realize improved quality, increased efficiency, streamlined billing and optimal CMS Quality Payment Program reporting. Anesthesia Touch combines ease of use with best practice documentation, backed by Plexus TG’s proven, KLAS-rated experience delivering powerful integration with multiple generations of MEDITECH solutions.

“In addition to our presence in the exhibit hall, we are excited to showcase Pharmacy Touch™, our medication management system,” explained Joe Gentile, Senior Vice President of Sales at Plexus Technology Group. “We encourage attendees to stop by for an interactive demonstration to learn more about how this system delivers to anesthesia providers and their pharmacies an integrated solution with controlled-access cabinets, barcode syringe labeling, closed-loop reconciliation and automated charging.”  The hands-on introduction to Pharmacy Touch will coincide with a happy hour reception sponsored by Plexus TG on Thursday, June 1st in the Gaylord Convention Center’s Forth Worth 5 room from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

Jackson, Mich.,—Plexus Technology Group, LLC (Plexus TG) and MiraMed Global Services (MiraMed) are pleased to announce the launch of  MACRA MadeEasy. This new suite of services provides comprehensive support to anesthesia clinicians seeking to comply with the evolving requirements of Medicare reimbursement.

In 2015, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) legislation was overwhelmingly approved by Congress. It transforms the way Medicare Part B payments are calculated. MACRA also repealed and replaced several older programs, including the Sustainable Growth Rate formula and the Physician Quality Reporting System. The first performance period began in January 2017 and directly impacts 2019 reimbursements for virtually all anesthesia physicians and nurse anesthetists who see over 100 Medicare patients and bill for over $30,000 in Part B services.

Tony Mira, CEO of Plexus TG and MiraMed, explained the genesis of the MACRA MadeEasy program. “We introduced the MiraMed QCDR for 2016 quality reporting, and it was a huge success, enabling over 6,000 anesthesia providers to comply with last year’s requirements.  But 2017 marked the beginning of a new paradigm—competitive, performance-driven payment rules.”

“Anesthesia Touch is an exceptional tool for capturing quality measure data, but that alone is no longer enough. As I explained in a recent eAlert, most anesthesia providers are choosing the Merit-based Incentive Payment System. For this reason, we designed the MACRA MadeEasy platform as a comprehensive solution covering every aspect of MIPS participation.”

MACRA MadeEasy is a significant extension to Plexus TG’s core product, Anesthesia Touch™, an electronic anesthesia documentation system. MACRA MadeEasy program allows clinicians to capture their quality measures through Anesthesia Touch and then automatically send the measures to the CMS-approved MiraMed QCDR registry. Enrolled individuals have access to the MACRA MadeEasy secure portal for instantaneous personalized performance insights.

“Given the complexities of the payment rules and their inescapable impact on the anesthesia specialty, we are excited to introduce MACRA MadeEasy,” added Doug Marcey, VP of Technology for Plexus TG. “This new service leads anesthesiologists and anesthetists through the Merit-based Incentive Payment System with a combination of certified EHR technology, exclusive anesthesia-specific quality measures and sustained counsel supported by recognized thought leaders in anesthesia and a CMS-approved Qualified Clinical Data Registry, the MiraMed QCDR. It is the simple choice for anesthesia clinicians who want expert guidance and recommendations to maximize their performance scores.”

Lake Norman Anesthesia Associates Jackson, Mich.,—Plexus Technology Group, LLC (Plexus TG), a fully KLAS-rated, market-leading, best-of-breed anesthesia information management system (AIMS) provider, announces Lake Norman Anesthesia Associates (LNAA) has recently selected Anesthesia Touch™, as the electronic medical record (EMR) solution for their anesthesia department.  LNAA provides anesthesia services through the local hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina which serves the greater Lake Norman region.

Anesthesia Touch was chosen by LNAA due to its extensive reporting capabilities and superior mobility. LNAA was focused on finding a solution that offers an easy to use, cloud-based, comprehensive anesthesia documentation system. In addition to meeting those criteria, the ability of Plexus TG’s solution to integrate with other hospital systems and automatically capture physiological data were cited as features that will optimize perioperative workflow.

“We’ve been watching the marketplace for the last several years, waiting for the right time to move to a digital chart.  The additional administrative burdens of [CMS’] MACRA really pushed us over the edge, paper just no longer seemed practical,” explained Steven H. Bradley, MD, anesthesiologist at Lake Norman Anesthesia Associates. “Anesthesia Touch makes it really simple for us to capture and report those new measures.”

Lake Norman Anesthesia Associates selected Anesthesia Touch above the competition not only because it is a state-of-the-art solution, but because it is part of a larger, seamless, and integrated platform including QCDR, anesthesia billing through Anesthesia Business Consultants’ F1RSTAnesthesia software platform and overall compliance with MACRA.  Competing anesthesia EMRs offer a single software product that a hospital or anesthesia group must then determine how to integrate into a strategy for MACRA. The Anesthesia Touch solution comes packaged together to accommodate all clinical needs, operational standards, and governmental compliance within one platform.  No other solution on the market can come close to that offering.

Tony Mira, CEO of Plexus TG, offered his insight on the changing attitudes towards quality reporting, “Lake Norman Anesthesia’s decision underscores the current trends in EMR adoption.  When we first launched our anesthesia-focused quality registry, most clinicians were participating just enough to meet the required minimums. In today’s consumer-oriented culture, clinicians are realizing that these scores directly impact their professional reputation, and that desire for stronger performance scores leads them to direct QCDR participation via their certified EHR technology.”

Jackson, Mich.,—Plexus Technology Group, LLC (Plexus TG), a fully KLAS-rated, market-leading, best-of-breed anesthesia information management system (AIMS) provider, is pleased to announce they will attend the Advanced Institute for Anesthesia Practice Management (AIAPM) Conference from April 29th to May 1st at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The AIAPM conference brings together the finest experts in the anesthesia billing and practice management industry. Focus areas will include group leadership and consolidation, using information technology, reporting quality, anesthesia and pain billing and coding and anesthesia billing compliance.

Plexus TG’s AIMS solution, Anesthesia Touch™, delivers clinicians an easily searchable coding module with full access to ICD-10 and CPT with crosswalks to ASA anesthesia codes. By having the option to select codes at the point-of-care providers can ensure they are capturing the level of specificity needed for accurate charging and full reimbursement. Beyond being an anesthesia recordkeeping system, Anesthesia Touch ensures compliance with MACRA legislation by collecting the required metrics for the Quality, Advancing Care Information and Improvement Activities categories.  Successful long-term compliance with MACRA involves submissions through a Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) to support the unique requirements of the anesthesia specialty, which is easily achieved with the Plexus TG platform.

“We are seeing more and more interest from healthcare organizations and physician practices as they recognize the substantial benefits associated with implementing an AIMS. By automating the anesthesia record, billing offices not only receive a complete anesthesia record, but hospitals and clinicians increase their availability and quality of patient data for research and analytics, compared to limited availability offered by paper records,” says Tony Mira, CEO of Plexus Technology Group.

Please visit Plexus TG at Booth #23 during the Advanced Institute for Anesthesia Practice Management Conference from April 29th to May 1st at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Jackson, Mich.,—Plexus Technology Group, LLC (Plexus TG), a market-leading, best-of-breed anesthesia information management systems (AIMS) provider, delivers dental office-based anesthesia providers with a flexible electronic anesthesia record on an iPad,  Anesthesia Touch™, that is tailored to their specific workflow. By automating the anesthesia documentation process, not only do providers spend less time on paperwork and more time with their patients, they also save time and money by transitioning to a paperless environment.

Key features sought out by dental anesthesia providers include a cloud-based electronic medical record (EMR) solution with extreme portability and the ability to automatically capture patient physiological data on the electronic anesthesia record.  In many instances, clinicians travel to multiple locations to provide anesthesia care, so improving efficiency by integrating a paperless workflow into their daily routine is extremely important and a valuable time saver.

Several recent and established clients shared comments about their experience utilizing Anesthesia Touch and converting from paper to an electronic anesthesia record.

"Anesthesia Touch is a phenomenal, user-friendly electronic system to use for in-office anesthesia records. Not only does it track vitals seamlessly, the cloud-based server allows simple connectivity through basically any WiFi source. The electronic faxing portion of the service is one I found uniquely helpful as it enables me to pull physician clearances, medical history reports, previous specialty notes, etc. up on my iPad as soon as the fax is assigned to a patient. I would recommend this program to any anesthesia provider working in dental offices,” stated Kevin Dincher, DMD, Dentist Anesthesiologist/Owner of Anesthesia Associates of Central PA.

Peter Pfeiffer MD, Dentist Anesthesiologist/Owner of AnesthesiaMobile said, "I've been using Anesthesia Touch in my practice for the past 18 months. The functionality has been exactly what I've needed and the dental offices where I provide anesthesia love the fact that I'm 100 percent digital and not cluttering up their offices with papers."

“As a dentist, Anesthesia Touch offers a lot more than I need.  Fortunately, their support team customized the software to meet my needs and allowed me to seamlessly incorporate it into my practice,” commented Michael S. Fioritto, DDS, DABOI, FAAID, Owner of Fioritto Family Dental.

“Using Anesthesia Touch has allowed me to give greater focus to total patient care. The automatic streaming of physiologic data from my Nihon Kohden monitor works seamlessly whether I am in my own office or if I travel to other offices. The charts are clear and legible and I can access them from anywhere that I have an internet connection,” said Ralph Epstein, DDS, Anesthesiologist/Owner of Distinctive Dental Services of New York. “The staff at Plexus have been wonderful to work with. They customized the program to fit my needs. In addition, as a program director of a residency program it helps me teach residents to be organized and to complete charts in an organized fashion.”

Anesthesia EMRIn addition, Plexus TG’s clients have access to an easy-to-use data analytics system as well as an integrated web-based scheduling application that can be used to manage their daily schedules and electronically capture patient health information in advance of surgery.

“We are continually looking for ways to improve and expand our office-based anesthesia product offering, so the feedback we receive from our clients and potential clients directly impacts our roadmap,” explained Doug Marcey, Vice President of Technology at Plexus TG. “For example, after receiving multiple requests to develop an integrated PACU nursing module that allows office-based providers to manage all their information from one system, we acknowledged its importance and started the development process with plans to roll it out later this year.”

“We recognize the need to automate and streamline the anesthesia documentation process is an important priority to providers delivering anesthesia care in office-based settings. With that in mind, we felt it was essential to offer an office-based anesthesia EMR solution that is affordable and tailored specifically to the needs of the providers,” said Tony Mira, CEO of Plexus TG.

As an iPad-based anesthesia documentation solution, Anesthesia Touch's full KLAS rating demonstrates Plexus TG’s commitment to providing complete AIMS functionality for their clients. For more information, visit www.klasresearch.com

Rotaplast InternationalJackson, Mich.,— Rotaplast International Inc., a humanitarian non-profit organization, announces the successful addition of the Plexus Technology Group, LLC (Plexus TG) anesthesia EMR, Anesthesia Touch™, in their mission work performed all around the world. Rotaplast anesthesia teams began electronically charting anesthesia records during their mission trips to Faridabad, India and Chittagong, Bangladesh and will continue beginning with their mission trip to Guatemala City, Guatemala in February 2017.

Rotaplast recognized that traditional anesthesia EMR solutions, such as those that dominate at large universities, were not practical for their mission trips, nevertheless they understood electronic recordkeeping should be part of their humanitarian vision. They sought out a state-of-the-art mobile cloud-hosted solution with the flexibility to succeed in the various environments encountered on global missions. Rotaplast volunteer anesthesiologists were pleased to find such a solution in Anesthesia Touch Plexus TG, a company willing to support their humanitarian vision.

“The anesthetic record was developed as a tool for improving care, but the classic written record does little to help us as the provider or those we are teaching at our host hospitals. Anesthesia Touch provides all the things we need and want from an electronic record, such as legibility and accuracy. In addition, its platform provides a searchable database making it easy to study and analyze past cases, enhancing our ability to learn and improve future experiences,” says Neal Fleming, MD, PhD, Chief Anesthesiologist and Board of Directors' Vice Chair at Rotaplast International; and Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, Vice Chair for Education, and Director of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesia at UC Davis Medical Center.

Rotaplast has been providing free cleft lip and palate reconstructive surgery to children and families around the world for 25 years. The organization partners with local medical professionals and Rotary clubs to send 30-person multidisciplinary medical teams to developing countries. Not only do these teams provide comprehensive surgery and treatment free of charge, but they also educate and train the local medical staff. Plexus TG is proud to have Anesthesia Touch featured as a best practice tool for anesthetic care. A team usually runs three operating rooms with each requiring a plastic surgeon, an anesthesiologist and an operating room nurse, as well as other support volunteers. Rotaplast volunteers treat approximately 100 children per mission and have performed reconstructive surgery for over 18,000 children in 26 countries on five continents.

“It’s a privilege for Plexus Technology Group to support the compassionate work provided by Rotaplast and to assist the more than forty anesthesiologists who volunteer on twelve to fifteen missions each year. We are very pleased to share our AIMS technology and cloud hosting services with Rotaplast. Anesthesia Touch delivers greater efficiency allowing the anesthesia team to spend even more time with the children they treat all around the world,” explains Tony Mira, CEO of Plexus TG.
